Discussion - EVE / EVE Designer 4.12 and Riverdi EVE4 series screens
« on: April 23, 2021, 02:15:45 PM »
Hello,

I've recently develloped an HMI on EVE Screen Designer 4.12 which I eventually want to display on a Riverdi EVE4 Series Screen (RVT70HSBNWC00 to be exact). EVE Screen Designer 4.12 seems to be able to produce codes for BT817Q which is the microcontroler used by the Riverdi screen although I'm having trouble working out how to visualise the finished project over the screen. So far, I've encontered the following issues:

- Riverdi advised me to use their Hermes devellopement bord to connect their screen to my PC. The issue is that this board is not recognised by EVE Screen designer. Will a MM900EV module (Compatible with EVE Screen Designer) work instead to program the Bt817Q found on my Riverdi screen ?

- I do not know what to put as hardware setup in the EVE Designer when I try to build a project as my configuration (BT817Q Riverdi screen with a Hermes board or any MM900EV module) is nowhere to be found.

- I would rather develop my HMI on EVE Screen Designer instead of EVE Screen Editor although I believe that EVE Screen Editor will work with the Hermes board of Riverdi (I still I'm not quite sure when to use one instead of the other). Can I easily move a project from EVE Designer to EVE Editor ? if so, how can I perform the switch ? If not, what can I transfert from EVE Screen Designer to Editor ?

Thanks in advance,

DELETRAZ Tristan

Hello,

I've tried, as you asked, to uninstall ESD as well as deleting the remaining folder while re-installing it in sevral different locations in my computer but no matter what I do the issue still persists. The same error message as mentioned previously still appears any time I try to add any font.

Hello,

Thank you for the updated version of EVE screen designer. I've tried to launch the project "EVChargePoint" which seems to now work perfectly.

However, whenever I try to add a new font (on my previously mentioned project, on a new project or even in the "EVChargePoint" project) the resource conversion still fails but a new error is shown:

Resource converter 'Font' for 'C:/Users/user/Documents/EVEworkspace/MyProject/Resources/myfont.ttf' failed
Reason: Cache invalid

'NoneType' object is not iterable

Hello again,

I've also found that this issue only seems to affect EVE Designer 4.10 as I've tried to import an external font on EVE Designer 4.8 and the conversion is performed as intended. The exemple projet "EVChargePoint" only shows the previouly explained error on EVE Designer 4.10 and not on EVE Designer 4.8.

Discussion - EVE / Importing custom fonts in EVE Designer 4.10

Hello,

Iā€™m having trouble setting up custom fonts for EVE Screen Designer 4.10.

In the user interface that I'm programming, i need to add the option to change the language from english to french.

Following the exemple "EVChargePoint" in which you can also change the language, I need to import a custom font since the one included in EVE Designer can't produce special french characters (among them, letters with accent).

However, when I try to add ant .ttf of .otf file, I get the following error:

Resource converter 'Font' for 'C:/Users/user/Documents/EVEworkspace/MyProject/Resources/myfont.ttf' failed
Reason: Cache invalid

(, 'fnt_cvt.py', '(, \'xfont.py\', "[Errno 2] No such file or directory: \'tmp.astc\'", 210)', 723)

I've tried several fonts and all of them produced the same error. The file format (.ttf or .otf) does not seem to make a difference.

Did anyone encountered this error ? If so, how can I fix this ?

Thank you in advance.
