BT817/818 release date?
« on: August 23, 2020, 07:45:42 PM »

Hello,
I've seen some advertisements for EVE4 chips 817/818. Is there a release date?

Thank you

Hi,

I had launched this topik and am looking forward to an answer :
http://www.brtcommunity.com/index.php?topic=92.0.

I said to myself that maybe he pushes it back to improve it but hey, I don't care too much

Hi,

The BT817 and BT818 will be released at the beginning of November,

In case you missed this:
https://brtchip.com/wp-content/uploads/Press_Release/FTDIPR110(A)%20BT817-818.pdf

And several tech news blogs and portals issued a verbatim copy of this news release.

Still no new Datasheet or Programming manual though.
But then we do not have "the beginning of November" yet.
Yes, I am excited. :-)

One thing I do wonder about though is how naming the EVE4 chips BT817 and BT818 works out when the documents so far
are labeled BT81x.
Sure, you can use a BT817 like a BT815 but you can not use a BT815 like a BT817.

Hi Rudolph, Everyone,

Good News - we've got the new page live now and you can find the datasheet and programmers guide on this page below:

https://brtchip.com/bt81x/

The programmers guide includes both BT815/6 and BT817/8 but has notes on features which are BT817/8 only,

Best Regards, BRT Community

I'm liking the looks of CMD_NEWLIST and friends.

Will this would allow coprocessor driven list fragments to be built in RAM_G, even while RAM_DL is busy waiting for a display list swap?

Nice, to celebrate this I just pushed a new version of my code library with full BT817 / BT818 support. :-)
Next I will start to have a very close look on both the datasheet and the new programming manual to check if there is anything that I missed before.

One question though, the sample display I have is equipped with this chip:
"K4R1P.39 BT817Q 2055-A"

Have there been significant changes towards the release revision of the BT817 that makes further testing with
this older revision of the BT817 less viable?

I see they are pin compatible with BT815/816 so I guess I don't have to change the PCB :)
