font conversion height problem
« on: June 02, 2021, 04:23:33 PM »

Hi,

I use poppins.ttf font in my ESD project.
But when I convert it height of character '3' is higher than character '2'. Same problem with '8'.
See attached picture...

PS: In microsoft word font is displayed correctly.

Which one did you convert exactly and to what settings?

Yesterday I looked for the poppins.ttf, found it at google: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Poppins
I selected "Regular 400", downloaded the archive and converted "Poppins-Regular.ttf" from it using EAB 2.2.0.
Font Size = 20, ASTC

And it came out a little broken here as well, the "4" was not as tall as all the other numbers.

For good measure I repeated all of this on a different computer just now and the result was the same.
So, I can not reproduce your results but something is off there.

Hello,
Please try with poppins bold to reproduce the issue.

Hello,

Could you please details the settings you are using to produce this issue?

I have tried the 'Poppins-Bold.ttf' file and I'm seeing similar results to Rudolph.
However this seems to be related to the size of the font conversion, see the attached images for an example conversions.
At size 12 the numbers appear to be the same height, at size 16 the number 4 appears shorted than the other numbers.

Hello,

I've been looking into this and can see that there is a slight discrepancy between the heights of the '2' and '3' characters when the font is converted at size 30.
I did however also notice that a conversion at font size 28 or size 32 this discrepancy disappears, but conversely becomes more prevalent at sizes 29 and 31.

I've asked the developers if they can comment on this, however it looks to be the result of the input font file and not necessarily an issue with the font convertor.
